Institutional Data
- Common Data Set - The Common Data Set (CDS) is a collection of data about MSU, including topics such as admissions, enrollment, retention, classes, activities, policies, and costs. It is the result of a collaborative effort among data providers in the higher education community and publishers as represented by the College Board, Thomson Peterson's, and U.S. News & World Report. The goal of this collaboration is to improve the quality and accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student's transition into higher education, as well as to reduce the reporting burden on data providers.
- Current Semester - Current semester data provides a profile of MSU’s current enrollment. This information is made available following the 20th day of the fall and spring semesters and the 15th day of the summer semesters.
- Graduation Rates - In compliance with the Student Right-to-Know and Campus Security Act of 1990 (Public Law 101-542), it is the policy of MSU to disclose its completion/graduation rates to all current and prospective students. Rates are based on fall term enrollment of full-time (12 credit hours), first-time degree seeking undergraduates.
- Degrees Awarded - Degrees awarded provides the number of degrees per major awarded each academic year.
- Factbook - The Factbook is a compilation of organized information intended to provide students, faculty, staff, alumni, and other interested parties with readily available institutional data.
- Retention Data - One-year retention data provides fall-to-fall persistence rates for all students. Rates are further divided into different categories for a more detailed analysis. Since this retention data requires one year, Fall 2004 is the last fall semester included.
- Entering Student Surveys - Entering Student Surveys are completed anonymously by students who attend either a new student orientation or Sprit Days (a special summer orientation program).
- Individual Years
- Trends
- Graduating Student Surveys - Graduating Student Surveys are completed anonymously and on-line by undergraduate students expecting to graduate within one year of completing the survey.
- Withdrawing Student Surveys - Withdrawing Student Surveys are completed when withdrawing students are interviewed by personnel at the Dean of Students Office. This data includes reasons given by students for their withdrawal.
